April’s Theme! Bring Out Your DEAD!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to post a quick note about April’s theme. I mentioned in my last post that I want to revive my art career. After thinking about it, I decided that I’d label this month’s theme “Bring Out Your DEAD!”┬áBecause if this were a Monty Python movie, you just might here my career say, “I’m not dead yet!”

So I will be posting images of artwork in progress for the Zazzle store (I’m working on greeting cards for people you hate!), and just for laughs, I’ll post pictures of my garden in progress. Yes! The Black Thumb rides again! I’ve already successfully grown several seed pots of…. mold. So much for heirloom tomatoes!

I may also pick up a few craft projects that I left languishing in Limbo. Remember the spider web poncho I was working on in October? Yeah, I found that last weekend while I was cleaning up my room. I think I should probably finish that, and maybe a couple other projects that didn’t quite get done.

So that’s what’s going on. And if you have any half-dead projects lying around that you want to revive, let me know! I’d be happy to cheer you on as you finish them, and even post a link to pics or blog posts about your work!

So let’s get cracking! We’ve got dead things to reanimate!

Krampus Challenge – Day 15, Creepy Eyeballs!

Look! I made a pretty holiday picture!

He sees you when you're sleeping...

Doesn’t this make you feel festive?!

I obviously still need to do a little cleaning up on this, because the strings for the two smaller ornaments are peeking up through the lettering on the top, but that’s for tomorrow. I’m going to hunt down Zazzle’s latest greeting card template and put this on there. I know it’s very late to set up holiday cards for Christmas, but hey, some of us don’t get our Christmas cards out until July!

Technical info – this graphic was made with Assembly for the iPad, with text and gradients handled in Corel Draw on my Surface Pro.

I’m going to bed now. Sleep tight! And don’t let the sugar plum fairies bite!

Zombie Dolly and the Eye-Screams of Doom, plus new Zazzle products!

I started a new piece of artwork last night. I’m calling this one “Zombie Dolly and the Eye-Screams of Doom.” I have no idea where the idea came from, beyond the fact that I like drawing zombies and I love kawaii-style artwork and ice cream cones.

I’ve taken some of my other recently finished art pieces and set them up on Zazzle as coffee mugs and other items. Take a look!

I’m still working on getting the Tiki-bot artwork set up on Zazzle. I’m thinking of making it a print, and possible putting it on a mug. If anybody has any other products they’d like to see some artwork on, let me know. I’m hoping this summer to beef up the Zazzle store and get plenty of new stuff set up on it.
